The Acting Head of the Insurance Control Commission Nadine El Habbal received a delegation of key executives from GenRe, which included Dr. Winfried Heinen, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Gen Re, Dr. Alfredo Fetter Nathansky, Head of MENA, Mediterranean and Latin America, together with the regional director Mazen Abou Chacra.

Mrs Habbal outlined the importance of the digitalization of the insurance processes from data capturing to analytics and pricing, which is expected to widen the insurance coverage by reaching out to larger segments from the society, particularly the youngsters. Making the sales process more fluid represents in this context one of the most tangible benefits. The delegation explained the role that reinsurance firms can play in helping the sector move forward with the present day technological progress, and reiterated the commitment of GenRe to Lebanon, despite the legal challenges which may restrict reinsurance operations.
